This number is on a continuous increase, and this massive growth in internet users has been chiefly driven by affordable mobile phones. It is estimated that around 200 million people got their first mobile phone in the year 2017, and almost two-thirds of the entire world’s population, i.e., 7.6 billion inhabitants now have a cell phone.
