Drew has been the VP of Sales Strategy at www.bkacontent.com for over 4 years. He has assisted many companies, both small-mid size to large Fortune 500 companies, in their content creation strategies. When he’s not working, Drew enjoys golfing and being a foodie.

Please introduce yourself and where you work.

My name is Drew Allen and I work at BKA Content. We provide written content for companies and their content marketing strategies.

How do you think SEO has changed over the last 10 years?

SEO used to be a spammy, gaming-the-system kind of strategy 10 years ago. Luckily Google has really cracked down on what makes a site rank highly, and the focus of that has been around high-quality content. If a company produces smart, authoritative content, they can expect to see an increase in their rankings.

How did you get introduced to digital marketing, more specifically SEO?

Working at BKA Content was my first experience in the SEO industry.

What are the services you provide to your clients?

We provide our clients with any type of written content that they need for their content strategy. The majority of work we do right now is around blog posts and e-commerce product descriptions, but we also write a lot of web pages, press releases, social media posts, etc.

What strategy according to you will prevail in 2017 for SEO?

I think in 2017 we’ll see a lot of people targeting the rich snippets or answers box on Google. They’re going to produce a lot of content focused on answering a specific question in hopes that their page will quickly rank in that spot. We’ve already seen an influx in requests for content targeted towards that end goal.

What would your advice be to people who are looking to take up digital marketing as a career choice?

Digital marketing is a great space to be in. However, it’s always changing and new strategies are being developed, so make it a point to stay on top of the latest trends and best practices.
